Challenge
To create a worldwide impression, our client wanted to introduce a new product line simultaneously in North America, Europe and East Asia .
Testing was key to ensuring that the global launch went off without a hitch. To shorten the time-to-market, development and testing were conducted together, leading to many changes in the development-testing cycle. To further complicate things, the testing project was unusually large, because it involved multiple product types on multiple platforms in multiple languages.
Solution
We had the unique advantage of being a long-time testing partner of the client, and were familiar with all the previous product types on the line and the company's working methods. We established a strong testing team in an independent lab to form a seamless development-testing cycle with the client's development team.
Our rich testing experience with the client in the past allowed us to identify challenges from the very beginning and develop a set of solutions to potential problems. In order to execute complex testing procedures efficiently, our test lead created a detailed test plan based on Matrix management so that all testing areas were covered scientifically. Our tool development group developed a project-specific management tool to enhance task assignment and progress control efficiency. And every software and product prototype on our Facility Management system was easily accessible. Finally, we developed an Online Dictionary to assist testers to switch effortlessly between European and Asian languages.
