Meet Valerie Clement

For our May Employee Spotlight, Valerie was nominated and will be highlighted in today’s interview:

Marketing: Here we are! We are back with another Employee Spotlight, this month our featured employee will be Valerie Clement our Technical Recruiter out of the Boise, Idaho office. Congrats Valerie and welcome to our show!

Valerie: Hi team! I’m excited to be here and have been nominated for the month of May.

Marketing: We are happy to have you here so let’s start with the basics. Can you tell us a little bit about your education and background?

Valerie: I was born and raised in Tucson, AZ and attended the University of Arizona. I earned my Bachelor’s in Retailing and Consumer Sciences with a Minor in Business Administration. After graduating, I quickly realized that I no longer wanted to work in retail! ? I took a leap and moved to Idaho to be closer to family and 13 years later I’m still here. Shortly after moving here, I started a contract position as an admin for a technical recruiting office supporting Hewlett Packard and six months later I was promoted to a Technical Recruiter role and have been doing that ever since!

Marketing: Props to you, honestly working in retail is no joke sometimes. We’re glad you were able to find a position you’re happy with here at Beyondsoft! Going off of that, how long have you been with Beyondsoft? Can you tell us more about your role with BCI?

Valerie: I started with Beyondsoft in July 2018 as a Technical Recruiter supporting our HP Boise campus. My role has evolved to also support recruiting for the HP Vancouver and HP San Diego sites. Since I sit on-site at the HP Boise campus, I get the opportunity to meet with new hires and I am often a point of contact to answer questions or provide assistance to our local employees. I have also had the opportunity to assist with organizing our local BCI events for employees as well as community service activities.

Marketing: The new hires in Boise are super lucky to have you there! Now, what would your current coworkers say is your greatest strength and why?

Valerie: I hope they would say my focus on service. I pride myself in going above and beyond and always want to help our employees and my co-workers in any way that I can.

Marketing: For every office, there always needs to be that person to help their employees and co-workers seems that you’re the go-to there. We’ve talked enough about work-related stuff let’s get into the fun questions. What is one movie you can always watch?

Valerie: “Julie and Julia”, it’s one of my favorites and I get pulled in any time I see that it’s on!

Marketing: Meryl Streep! She’s awesome and loved her in “The Devil Wears Prada. Let’s say you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go and why?

Valerie: My husband and I have been dreaming of Bora Bora and one of those over the water huts for years! I’d love to take my whole family!

Marketing: We’ve just Googled some pictures of Bora Bora, and that might be our new dream vacation destination as well. What is your favorite restaurant or takeout food?

Valerie: There is a little fast food chain in Tucson called Eegee’s! I haven’t had it in 13 years and still crave it all the time! But Red Robin French fries are a close second.

Marketing: Did somebody say french fries, just thinking about is making me hungry. But local joints are always the best. Let’s imagine you had all the money in the world, what would be your first buy?

Valerie: A cabin in the mountains so I can have a vacation home and stay in a house instead of camping in a tent!

Marketing: That sounds so cozy, just watch out for the bears! Here’s our last question for you, what is one thing you cannot resist?

Valerie: My kids! I’m probably a pushover when it comes to them but they’re just so cute! ?
