For those of you new to this, we choose a Beyondsoft employee and ask them questions about their role in the company, as well as a few “just for fun” questions, so our readers get the chance to learn more about the incredible people who make up our team. Introduction of yourself<\/p>\n
Hi, my name is Foo Ngai Hang, but usually my colleagues will call me Foo. I\u2019ve been \u00a0working in HR recruitment field for more than 3 years. During these few years, I \u00a0enjoyed working in this HR field with an excellent record of identifying and placing \u00a0superior job candidates. I\u2019m so grateful to be selected as one of the employees based \u00a0in Malaysia for conducting this employee interview. <\/p>\n
Marketing: Hi thanks for agreeing to be this month\u2019s spotlight! How long have you \u00a0been with Beyondsoft? What does your role entail?\u00a0<\/p>\n
Answer: I\u2019ve been working with Beyondsoft as a Talent Acquisition Executive for \u00a0more than 2 years since August 2020. As a part of Talent Acquisition team, I\u2019m \u00a0responsible for identifying, acquiring, assessing, and hiring candidates to fill up open \u00a0positions within a company. I\u2019m also responsible for developing employer branding \u00a0and communicating a clear brand to potential candidates. In addition to that, \u00a0candidate life cycle will need to manage by our team, from the initial application \u00a0through the final job offer.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Marketing: What do you like most about your job? Is there a unique (or fun) \u00a0project you\u2019ve been working on that you can talk about?\u00a0<\/p>\n
Answer: Working as a Talent Acquisition has allowed me to enrich the lives of my \u00a0candidates; directly as well as indirectly. If we consider the impact I have made on \u00a0my candidates, maybe it\u2019s more money, maybe it\u2019s an opportunity for them for them \u00a0to have more responsibility at work. The candidates are better suited, and they give \u00a0back to the world, their community, and their families.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve been involved in various type of internal projects with Beyondsoft, mainly on IT \u00a0role openings related. The most unique tasks that I can talk about is I\u2019m able to \u00a0interact with people in different locations such as Indonesia, Philippines etc., not \u00a0limited to Malaysia.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Marketing: We can\u2019t wait to see what you have up your sleeves! What advice \u00a0would you give to recent new hires?<\/p>\n
Answer: I would like to advise new hires to get to know their coworkers in order to \u00a0integrate with their new work environment. In the first few weeks, the new hires \u00a0should spend more time with their colleagues, both during working hours and during \u00a0breaks. Having relationships with coworkers can also ensure them have a few people \u00a0can talk to when they need assistance. Moreover, new hires are encouraged to ask a \u00a0lot of questions and create a culture where helping each other with these questions. \u00a0Asking question can helps to clarity expectations and also accelerates the learning \u00a0process so we can start seeing value earlier from the new hires.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Marketing: Do you work in-office or remote? What are your biggest productivity tips \u00a0for that environment?\u00a0<\/p>\n
Answer: I\u2019m working in office with my other team members. There are quite a few \u00a0advantages for this working mode, especially the work zones establishment. Design \u00a0pleasant and quiet spaces in the offices are essential and allow employees to meet \u00a0and work as a team, enhancing collaboration when necessary. Besides, an effective\u00a0communication and the collaborations between teams can be promoted in order to \u00a0boost the productivity.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Marketing: What is your philosophy?\u00a0<\/p>\n
Answer: As a Talent Acquisition, my philosophy is \u201cTreat others as I want to be \u00a0treated\u201d. Continuous communication with applicants is important to be successful at \u00a0recruiting and retaining talent. In a real-life situation, recognizing the qualities of \u00a0others is equivalent to recognizing myself. It is a training that leads me to constantly \u00a0grow your ability to notice the potential I have inside. It will helps to contribute to \u00a0the joy of people who rediscover their own worth and at the same time, it elevates \u00a0my mood.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Marketing: What\u2019s your MBTI?\u00a0<\/p>\n
Answer: My MBTI is Entertainer.<\/p>\n
Marketing: Recommendation time: Is there anything you currently love and want to \u00a0share? This can be a podcast, book, tv show, music, activity \u2013 you name it!\u00a0<\/p>\n
Answer: Team building is one of the activities I would like to recommend the most. \u00a0Good communication is vital for a high performing team as it can helps break down \u00a0the barriers in communication. Through the exercises in a team building, we will \u00a0learn more about each other. We will learn strengths, weaknesses, capabilities, and \u00a0fears, with these learnings contributing to a deeper relationship and trust amongst \u00a0team members. <\/p>\n
