Better together: Diversity, equity, and inclusion at Beyondsoft

Author: Beyondsoft Recruiting

As a global organization, we understand the value of an inclusive and equitable culture that embraces diversity.  In fact, our mission depends upon it. We believe that our success is driven by a diverse workforce of individuals with different ideas, strengths, interests, and cultural backgrounds, who are united in purpose, strategy, and culture. The more unique identities, backgrounds, and perspectives we can assemble, the more meaningful change we can create for our customers, our industry, and our employees.

“Beyondsoft has always prioritized DEI,” says Rachel Warren, Corporate Recruiter at Beyondsoft. “In fact, 62.5% of our executive and senior-level managers are women. As BCI’s DEI program manager, my goal is to continue evolving existing initiatives and collaborate with our employees to identify needs and opportunities to improve our program.”

So, what does DEI at Beyondsoft look like? Below we’ve listed just a few of the many ways we are working to create a diverse culture where everyone feels welcome and supported.

Diverse recruiting practices

Diversity begins before employees walk through the door. Beyondsoft partners with an external resource that specializes in diverse recruiting to ensure we reach a broad spectrum of candidates and minimize bias throughout recruiting, interviewing, candidate selection, and hiring. Managers have received training to help ensure bias-free interviews. Additionally, as an equal opportunity employer, Beyondsoft treats everyone fairly across all facets of the employee lifecycle.

Training and education

Education and training comprise a key component of our DEI program. Beyondsoft offers several DEI-focused training opportunities for employees. A few of the trainings include:

  • “Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging for All” (LinkedIn)
  • “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” (Swift HR Solutions)
  • “Respectful and Inclusive Workplace” (Swift HR Solutions)
  • Mandatory DEI training for all new hires

Employee engagement

Employee engagement underpins the success of our DEI program. As such, we implemented an employee-wide survey to gather opinions related to DEI issues. These results help inform potential areas where we can improve. Some examples of how we engage employees on the topic of DEI include:

  • A dedicated email alias for employees to discuss and share ideas around DEI topics
  • Usage of preferred pronouns encouraged in Outlook signatures
  • Updates to employee materials to reflect inclusive language
  • Addition of DEI-related policies and programs in our employee handbook

These represent just a few of the many ways we approach DEI. As we evolve our DEI program, Beyondsoft continues to prioritize employee needs and opinions and solicit employee involvement.
