SENAC (Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Comercial) is one of the key professional education institutions in Brazil, with decades of experience in training professionals for the commerce and services sector. Their nationwide network and strong education programs empower students to confidently enter the job market, especially in customer service fields like tourism and hospitality.

THE CHALLENGE

Maintaining physical servers and data centers to support an on-premises system was a major drain on time and resources. The set up was costly, with expenses tied to maintenance, retirement, and security issues. Senac-DF encountered significant challenges including limited flexibility, difficulty scaling the environment quickly, and resource limitation.

These issues made it hard for Senac-DF team members to implement changes swiftly to keep up with demand, resulting in delayed responses to internal requests and tracking updates. Additionally, the outdated infrastructure may be exposed to security risks and the lack of updates restricted some services, impacting operational efficiency and the user experience.

THE SOLUTION

Senac-DF saw potential in cloud migration to improve their IT infrastructure but needed clarity on its benefits, security practices, and implementation timeline. They chose us as their partner, relying on our cloud migration expertise. We kicked off with a thorough assessment, mapping out migration priorities and answering their questions about the advantages and process.

We executed the migration in two phases: Phase 1 replicated servers in the cloud, and Phase 2 focused on modernization. Senac-DF has already migrated 80% of their servers and is on track to fully transition by 2026.

THE RESULTS

The focus of this project was to centralize Senac-DF’s IT infrastructure improving its ability to manage stakeholder’s requests easily. Security compliance was also enhanced through Microsoft’s advanced cloud security features, creating a secure environment for all operations.

With cloud migration, Senac-DF now offers remote and global access, allowing team members to work from anywhere. They gained agility by scaling IT resources on demand, helping them move faster on projects. Automating certain processes has improved operational efficiency and strengthened business continuity, leading to increased productivity.

The internal teams were affected by the lack of flexibility and scalability using legacy systems. Today, the team has increased its productivity by approximately 25%, which allows us to work and scale new demands and projects with ease. With a centralized and scalable environment, we have a more agile and secure environment. Additionally, our external clients now have access to Office 365 package, facilitating virtual learning environments in groups, and with added security to their data.
