Learning, Growing, and Solving: Daniela’s Career Journey into Tech and AI

Author: Shundrian Green

Coming from a non-technical background taught me that my degree doesn’t define my future. Curiosity, discipline, and the willingness to keep learning can open doors you never expect.

Daniela Gonzalez, Salesforce Associate, Beyondsoft

Career paths are not always linear. Sometimes, the opportunities that challenge us the most are the ones that shape us the most.

In this edition of Real Talk, I sat down with Daniela Gonzalez to discuss her career journey from advertising and customer service into the world of Salesforce. Daniela shares how trust and her love for learning opened doors she never expected. Her journey led her to earn her Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator & Salesforce Certified Agentforce Specialist certifications.

Shundrian: It’s great to meet you. Can you tell us about your role here at Beyondsoft?

Daniela: Thank you Shundrian for the invitation. I’m a Salesforce Administrator and I see myself as a puzzle solver. My job is to help clients get the most out of their Salesforce investments. That means making their systems run smoother, supporting users, and finding fixes. This role gives me the opportunity to learn as technology is constantly evolving. It keeps me on my toes and lets me keep growing while helping others.

Shundrian: What led you to become a Salesforce Administrator?

Daniela: I’ve learned that my background doesn’t decide my future.

I studied advertising and spent years in administrative and customer service. If you’d told me I’d end up in Salesforce, I would’ve laughed and say “that’s impossible!”

During the pandemic, I worked in customer support at a SaaS company. One of my managers moved to Beyondsoft and suggested I apply for a tech role. The catch? I needed to improve my English. So, I spent a year learning a new language every evening after work. Looking back, every big step in my career started because someone believed in me before I was ready. I always try to honor that trust by working hard and learning as much as I can. Eventually, I got the chance to move into a junior Salesforce role.

I’d never touched Salesforce before, but I jumped in, learned from scratch, and found out I really enjoy solving problems and finding ways to help. Beyondsoft feels special to me, it’s a place where people genuinely want to help each other grow. It feels like home.

Shundrian: How has earning your Salesforce admin certification changed the way you work with clients?

Daniela: My Salesforce journey has been built on solving one challenge at a time.

When I started, my goal was to get certified and I did it. Last year, I was promoted to a Salesforce Administrator role and took on another challenge: achieving the Salesforce Administrator certification.

It took months of studying while still doing my regular work. Getting certified was a big deal for me, it is a promise to myself and my team who placed their trust on me.

Now, I approach things with more confidence and a better understanding of how everything fits together. I try to look beyond just getting a task done and think about how my work can make a lasting impact.

I don’t see the certification as the end. I look at every problem with a beginner’s mindset. The tech industry keeps changing and Salesforce is constantly updating their service offerings. That’s what keeps me interested. There’s always more to learn.

Shundrian: How do talk to your clients about AI or help them adopt it?

Daniela: AI is popular topic discussion amongst my clients and colleagues.

From my POV, AI is more than automating existing tasks. AI helps people work smarter, so they can focus on what matters most, like creativity and teamwork.

Here’s what I mean.

I was tasked to complete an AI integration project and it had challenged me in many ways. It pushed me to pause, think differently, and ask critical questions that are important to my clients and their power users.

I tried several approaches to make it work and realized a technical blocker led me to a better solution. Working on this project inspired me to aim for a Salesforce AI certification next. It feels like a natural step forward and another chance to grow with technology.

I’m also honored that my experience became a customer story.

Shundrian: Can you share some of the industry trends you are seeing?

Daniela: Technology keeps evolving faster than ever, especially with AI becoming part of everyday business. And my learning adventure never stops.

Coming from a non-technical background taught me that my degree doesn’t define my future. Curiosity, discipline, and the willingness to keep learning can open doors you never expect.

That’s probably what I enjoy most about Salesforce. Every project is different, every challenge teaches you something new, and every release gives you another opportunity to grow. Sometimes I don’t know the answer right away, but instead of seeing that as a limitation, I see it as the beginning of learning something new.

Looking back, I never planned to build a career in technology, but I did choose to embrace opportunities that challenged me and allowed me to grow. Today, I’m proud of how far I’ve come, but I’m even more excited about everything that’s still ahead.

My conversation with Daniela is a testament to how growth often begins with a willingness to expand your comfort zone, a lesson we can all learn from. Whether she’s helping clients get more value from Salesforce, exploring the possibilities of AI, or pursuing her next certification, Daniela approaches every challenge as an opportunity to learn and grow.

Her journey is a powerful reminder that success is not defined by where you start, but by your willingness to keep moving forward. Thank you, Daniela, for sharing your Real Talk with us. We can’t wait to see what’s next for you here at Beyondsoft.
