Modernizing monolithic applications and migrating to AWS

Business challenge
Leading global automotive manufacturer was in the midst of an enterprise-wide cloud transition. Two large monolithic applications with tight coupling impeded feature delivery. They had low reliability and complex support due to internal architectural dependencies. Client wanted to decouple application components, and refactor them to fully exploit the flexibility and agility of Cloud.
Beyondsoft defined a server-less architecture, modernised DevOps pipelines with AWS Elastic Beanstalk and Amazon EKS to enable continuous integration and deployment, and used AWS cloud services for authentication, backend (AWS Lambda) and network services. The DevOps pipeline uses AWS Direct Connect to connect to the private cloud, and AWS Transit Hub to secure connectivity between the VPC and the hub. Migrated databases to Amazon RDS for MySQL and Amazon Aurora Global RDS, and enabled low-latency access to the DIS using Amazon CloudFront. Modernised infrastructure management using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code paradigm, and built granular observability into services with Amazon ElasticSearch.
